Please meet Rattana Sokunthyda, who is 19 y.o. and is year 1 student at the Computer Graphics and Design department with IT Academy STEP Cambodia. We have asked her to share her opinion about studying with IT Academy STEP Cambodia.
Why did you chose to study this major?
Graphic Design has the two qualities I want to explore academically: intellectuel/logical and creative/artistic, where most majors rarely have a good balance of both. It challenges a student to develop their artistic skills to create something that's not only attractive but also useful in the modern world. And the best part is that you are encouraged to challenge the norms, as long as your methods works.
What do you think, makes the Academy special?
Professionalism and Friendliness. The Academy's staff members are very welcoming and eager to help the students from the day one. And their system is very well organized and modern, for students to learn effectively and efficiently
Please meet Por Muy E, who is 17 y.o. and is first year student at the Computer Graphics and Design department with IT Academy STEP Cambodia.
Please share, why did you chose to study this major?
I choose to study this major because I love to express myself with my creations and I love drawing so I plan to improve my skills.
What do you think, makes the Academy special?
IT Academy STEP is special because I'll only have to spend 2,5 years to study here and learn skills that can help my employment.
What do you like most in the Academy?
What I like most about the Academy is that it has a mart which I can grab quick snacks or drinks anytime. Ok, that is a joke :-)
What do you wish to tell to other Cambodian students who are thinking of studying here?
I would wish students to be more confident and just join the Academy. I would definitely recommend studying here. You will not regret your choice!

You might now often come across such concepts as UX and UI, but not everyone understands their meaning and the difference between them. Let’s try to figure it out together.
Whether you press buttons on an ATM, brew a cappuccino in a coffee machine, or swipe a button on the screen of a smartphone – these are all interfaces to interact with mechanisms. UX-design or user experience design is what an experience and an impression a user gets from working with your interface. Whether he/she is able to achieve the goal and how easy or difficult it is to do so.
Let’s take a simple example.
You have downloaded a new player on your smartphone, but it works exclusively in Japanese, which you do not understand. However, even without knowledge of Japanese, you can use the application without any discomfort, since its interface is intuitively understandable. It has buttons Play, Pause, Stop, play track and so on. After using this app for some time, you will not e

If you’re new to programming, it might seem like there’s so much information to learn. You might wonder, how do programmers remember all of those concepts, functions, and details? Do programmers memorise everything?
Do you need to be a genius to become a programmer? Is programming a special skill that can be only learned by very smart students with strong mathematical skills?
Here is our TOP 5 tips to help you:
Take notes when you are learning. As you learn new concepts, write down what goals they help you to accomplish.
Write down all questions that appears in your mind while you study anything new in programming.
Whenever you make mistakes, write what you did wrong, why it was wrong, and what you will do differently next time.
Learn from other people’s codes: you can check websites and apps code, join programmers communities to learn from others. But do not just copy-paste. Try to understand why and how the code works!
