Every company in Phnom Penh is being told to "use AI." Very few have people who actually know how. That gap is exactly what the Digital Business and Artificial Intelligence diploma at IT Academy STEP Institute was built to close.
It is the newest of our four professional diploma programs, and the only digital business and AI course Cambodia offers where artificial intelligence is not one module at the end. It runs through all five terms, applied to real business work.
Who This Program Is Actually For
This is not a programming degree. If you want to build software, the Software Development diploma is your path.
DBAI is for the person who wants to sit between business and technology. You enjoy solving problems, working with people, and making decisions with evidence rather than guesses. You want to understand data, marketing, operations and AI well enough to lead a project, not just complete a task.
What You Study, Term by Term
The program runs 2.5 years across five terms of six months each.
Term 1: Digital foundations and AI literacy. Computer science fundamentals, English for Business, digital awareness, and practical AI literacy. You learn what AI genuinely does, where it fails, and how to prompt it properly.
Term 2: Data, communication and AI for business. Excel and data analysis, digital collaboration, compelling reports, critical and system thinking, and AI applied to business tasks.
Term 3: Business analytics and Power BI. Data analytics essentials, business analytics with AI, and Power BI. The term ends with a real analytics dashboard project you can show an employer.
Term 4: Entrepreneurship and project management. Discovering, launching and managing a business venture, plus project and product management, stakeholder work and pitching. The term project is your own venture.
Term 5: Digital marketing, AI and product building. AI in creative industries, digital marketing, and building digital products with vibe coding. You finish by shipping a product.
The program closes with a three-month graduation project: a complete business plan, a marketing plan, and the launch communication materials to go with it.
The Careers It Leads To
Cambodian companies are digitalizing faster than they are hiring people who understand digitalization. DBAI graduates are positioned for roles such as business analyst, data analyst, Power BI developer, AI project manager, product manager, digital marketing specialist, operations analyst, business development manager, or founder of their own venture.
The common thread is that all of these roles require someone who can read data, explain it clearly, and turn it into a decision. That skill is rare here, and it is teachable.
What Comes With the Tuition
DBAI includes Cisco NetAcad badges and Cisco international certificates at no extra cost, so you finish with verified proof of skills alongside your diploma.
You also receive the IT Academy STEP International Professional Diploma, recognized across the 25+ countries in the STEP network. IT Academy STEP Institute is accredited by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, and diplomas are verifiable at verify.gov.kh.
Class Schedule
Weekday groups run three class days plus two guided self-study days per week, in morning, afternoon or evening sessions. The weekend group runs Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, which works well if you are already studying or employed.
