On Wednesday, 30 September 2026, our Associate Degree students at IT Academy STEP Cambodia sat their Exit Exam, the final assessment before they graduate. It was a big day for them, and it came with an important guest. Officials from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) visited our campus to monitor the exam and check its quality in person.

For students, this was the moment all those late nights of coding, designing and fixing projects were building toward. For us, it was a chance to show that the Associate Degree Exit Exam at STEP Cambodia is run to the same standard the Ministry expects from every accredited institution in the country.

What Is the Associate Degree Exit Exam?

The Exit Exam is the last big test of the Associate Degree program. It checks whether students have truly mastered what they learned across their studies, not just memorized it for one class.

At STEP Cambodia, students can choose to earn a MoEYS-recognized Associate Degree alongside their international diploma. Throughout their studies they build real projects, and the Exit Exam is where they show those skills hold up under proper exam conditions.

Passing it is a key step toward receiving an Associate Degree recognized by MoEYS.

Why MoEYS Came to Check the Exam

A degree only means something if people can trust how it was earned. That is why the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport sends officials to monitor exams at accredited institutions. During the visit, the MoEYS team observed how the exam was organized and run, making sure it followed national standards for quality, fairness and transparency.

We welcomed this visit. When you are confident in how you teach and assess, a check from the Ministry is nothing to be nervous about. It also gives our students and their families extra peace of mind that the qualification they are working toward is fully legitimate.

We sincerely thank MoEYS for its time, its guidance and its continued support for quality IT education in Cambodia.

An Associate Degree That Keeps Your Options Open

Not every student knows exactly where they want to go after graduation, and that is completely fine. Some want to start working right away. Others may want to continue their studies later on. The Associate Degree gives our students room for both.

It is a recognized qualification from MoEYS, and it gives graduates a pathway to continue toward a Bachelor degree at an accredited Cambodian university whenever they are ready. Today's quality check by the Ministry is one more reason students and families can trust that pathway.

That is what we want for every STEP student: real skills for the job market today, and the freedom to keep learning tomorrow.

To Our Graduating Students

To everyone who sat the exam today: well done. You put in the hours, pushed through difficult projects and grew a lot since your first term. Whatever your results, be proud of how far you have come. We wish you the very best, and we cannot wait to see what you build next.

Start Your Own Journey at STEP Cambodia

IT Graduate Employment in Cambodia: STEP Results 2025–2026

97% of STEP Cambodia graduates with confirmed status are working. See employers, salaries and real career stories from the 2025–2026 cohorts.

Choosing where to study is a major decision. Most schools explain what students will learn. Far fewer publish what happens after graduation: whether graduates find work, where they are employed, and how their careers develop. At IT Academy STEP Cambodia, we follow up with graduates after they complete their programs. Our 2025–2026 graduate employment data covers students from the 2.5-year Software Development and Computer Graphics & Design Professional Programs. The results show strong employment across both fields, and real career progression from junior roles and freelance projects to specialist and management positions.   97% of graduates are working, and many are employed even before graduation  We asked our graduates in 2025 and 2026 if they are employed, and 97% confirmed that they are working in companies, government institutions or as independent professionals. Some others continue their studies in other educational institutions and cannot yet start working full

Digital Business and AI: Inside STEP's Newest Professional Diploma Program

Inside the STEP Digital Business and AI course Cambodia has been waiting for: what you study each term, the careers it leads to, and who the program is built for.

Every company in Phnom Penh is being told to "use AI." Very few have people who actually know how. That gap is exactly what the Digital Business and Artificial Intelligence diploma at IT Academy STEP Institute was built to close. It is the newest of our four professional diploma programs, and the only digital business and AI course Cambodia offers where artificial intelligence is not one module at the end. It runs through all five terms, applied to real business work.   Who This Program Is Actually For This is not a programming degree. If you want to build software, the Software Development diploma is your path. DBAI is for the person who wants to sit between business and technology. You enjoy solving problems, working with people, and making decisions with evidence rather than guesses. You want to understand data, marketing, operations and AI well enough to lead a project, not just complete a task.   What You Study, Term by Term The program runs 2.5 years acr

How to Become a Software Developer in Cambodia (No Experience Needed)

A practical guide to become a software developer in Cambodia with no experience: what to learn first, what juniors actually earn, and how long it really takes.

You do not need a computer science degree or a genius-level brain to become a software developer in Cambodia. You need a plan, a few hours a week you can protect, and enough patience to keep going after your code breaks for the fifth time in one evening. Phnom Penh's tech sector is still young. Banks, telecoms, startups and agencies are hiring people who can build software, and many are hiring juniors because the senior talent pool is small. That is an opening. Here is an honest roadmap.   Step 1: Pick One Language and Stay With It The most common beginner mistake is switching languages every three weeks. Pick one and go deep for at least six months. Python is the friendliest starting point. The syntax reads almost like English; it is used everywhere in AI and data work, and you can build something useful within a few weeks. JavaScript is the alternative if you want to see results in a browser immediately. Whichever you choose, learn the same fundamentals: variab
