Are you finishing high school and wondering what to study next? If you’re a young Cambodian considering your future, learning to code might be the smartest decision you ever make. Here’s why:

High Demand, High Salaries
Cambodia is rapidly embracing digital transformation. However, according to UNESCO, only 32% of the population have basic digital skills, 5% possess intermediate skills, and 1% have advanced skills as of 2020. This is creating a massive opportunity for those equipped with software development skills. The demand for skilled developers in Cambodia is growing quickly, offering excellent job security and attractive salaries both in government institutions and private companies, as well as within the evolving startup ecosystem.

Future-Proof Your Career
Some may worry that advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) might eliminate the need for coding skills. However, as highlighted by McKinsey Digital, AI will likely enhance rather than replace the role of developers. Coders will remain crucial for creating, managing, and innovating digital technologies. By learning to code, you’re not just preparing for today’s job market, you’re ensuring your skills remain relevant as technology evolves
