On January 25, 2025, IT Academy STEP Cambodia, in collaboration with Sisters of Code, will host the Day of AI in Education 2025 at the Cambodia-Korea Cooperation Center (CKCC). This milestone event promises to reshape how educators and students in Cambodia view and engage with generative artificial intelligence.

A Collaborative Effort

Organized with the support of the Ministry of Education, Youth and SportNational Committee for Lifelong Learning (NCLLL), along with backing from the British Embassy and British Aid, this event aims to highlight the role of AI in fostering lifelong learning opportunities. With 300 participants expected, the event is a testament to the growing interest in integrating advanced AI tools into Cambodia’s educational ecosystem.

The Day of AI in Education 2025 will explore the theme "Generative AI in Education: Lifelong Learning Opportunities for All." The agenda features an impressive lineup of activities:

  • Workshops and Presentations: Educators and students will gain hands-on insights into how AI can enhance learning. The launch of a Khmer-language guidebook, Generative AI Tools in Education - A Guidebook for Teachers, will provide practical tools for classrooms.
  • Panel Discussions: A roundtable discussion will bring together experts from UNESCO, the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, and other key stakeholders to discuss the ethical applications of AI in education.
  • Ethics and Technology: Sessions like Implementing AI Ethics in Practice and AI-Assisted Content Creation for Educators will focus on the responsible and innovative use of AI technologies.

The event will be graced by H.E. Mr. Dominic Williams, Ambassador of Great Britain, who will share insights into technological advancements and ethical AI adoption. Representatives from Cambodia's Ministry of Education will also emphasize the importance of AI in shaping the future of education.
